Hi all. I have a family member who is looking for some good references and contact on development of the hand and its function. I am a hand therapist, and have been able to help some, but she really needs to speak to someone who is doing pediatrics and/or school system. She has written several books on crochet and doll making, and had been using these as an activity in the schools where she works as a functional activity with the students. In the process she became fascinated with the meaning of the hand in respect to a child's physical and psychological development. She is coming at her new book as a layperson, but needs some good contacts to explore the foundations of that topic. Even though she is not writing this directed toward OT's or any other health profession (she is directing more toward teachers and parents, I believe), from what she has told me so far I think that there will be some OT's interested in this book when she finished. Anyway, to get back to the topic, can anyone out there throw out some good references that I can give her or even some experts in that field that she might be able to contact?
