I have you looked at some of AOTA's consumer handouts?  Would any of these
be a good starting point for discussion and for handouts?  I remember in MPH
school, we had to answer a question with a short 1 minute response, my
question about OT in pediatrics.  The experience taught me to be sucinct and
give good short examples of what I do.  
We're human occupational experts, in adults that self-care, work, etc.  Give
quick examples of the types of patients you are looking for, and what you do
to help.  Do not mention what other specialties do, do not mention the
differences between you and others unless asked.  Keep on topic, for example
how well do you think (to the doc) are abel to manage independently?
