I'm glad! Two more things that might help: Don't stem
(press) on flat hands, but on fists or knuckles. Bend
forwards some more, and the bottom starts clearing by itself
(I know, the balance issue, but hopefully with time..)

Not sure, but isn't her injury too high for that? Pressing
on headboard of bed with hands or head could work for moving
down in bed - if you first pull up legs a little and swing
knees to one side. Maybe easy-slide material or plastic bag
under bottom if all else fails..
