Ron,
My instructors were constantly coming up with interesting ideas, but for one of my favorite projects we had to pick public buildings we thought would be (and that claimed to be) handicapped accessible. We were told to "become" a patient and try to access these places with walkers, wheelchairs, etc... When we found a challenge we had to come up with various solutions to the problem. We were required to find some solutions that were cost effective (homemade) along with solutions that we could find in catalogs etc... It was a real challenge and made you think out side the box. Not only that, it made us much more aware of the challenges people face on a daily basis and how we need to be creative in our solutions. Very fun, and I learned so much!!!

Hello All:

I'm teaching an "Intro to OT" course at a local OTA program. I would
like to develop some really good practical experiences for the students.

What suggestions do you have?

Thanks,

Ron
