Just a short question: I have a very old OTRS installation on my server, 1.3.2.

Instead of updating it, which is a long process, can I install also a
second installation of OTRS, the newest one, on the same server?
Then I could gradually move some content from the old to the new version.

Hello Marc,

this is a common question. I think you will find some answers to this in old postings of the list or elsewhere on the internet. For the begin you can look at :

But I don't think a second, newer installation would solve your problem, since moving content from one major version to another major version without upgrading AFAIK isn't supported.

So simply upgrading your recent installation will be much quicker.
