Had the battery tested, and it was flat as a tack. I am now trying to locate another one... keep you posted! (Checking all the plugs was my first step, can't find another monitor to try, no CD, no boot disk - silly me!) Thanks once again. I thought I was the only person alive still interested in my old Mac. My DH thinks I'm a lunatic. Hey, at least I could bring myself to move on from my IIE! I have the same reverence for VW beetles (the originals of course!) of which I have also owned two.
