There are two versions of OpenWrt the difference is the kernel. Yours is  
new 2.6 but there might be some problems with wifi. If it works for you  
the stick to it. The OWFS version is the same.
The only difference is that with 2.6 kernel serial port is /dev/ttyS0 or  
/dev/ttyS1
and with

It should work with WRT54G it the same 1-wire driver that is inside mine  
adapter.

If you want to have more memory for storing readings from sensors you  
could consider adding SDcard. It's fairy easy for WRT54G. Look for "SD  
mod".
