Just for my piece of mind Andrew, have you managed to pull the code
from CVS, or are you always using the releases? I've found that I can
get the CVS code to build here. Granted I'm not running Red Hat9 but
Slackware 10, or Slackware 10.2. Clearly there is something strange
going on.

Now the crazier thought, have you gotten these devices to work via the
original Windows stuff? Or even the Java interface? You might have
some flakey devices here.
