In this case, it wasn't a read error -- rather trying to apply bus power put the
program in an infinite loop.

In general, OWFS is pretty fault-tolerant. Individual reads and writes can fail
and just return errors. The adapter can be removed and replaced and the program
goes on. I have data collection that goes on for months at a time with no
intervention.

It concerns me that an error in one particular read (which
presumably will happen from time to time) can stop the whole
setup from working, requiring manual intervention to get it
going again.
