The Maxim/AAG design is 8 bit.
The Hobby Boards is 4 bit.
The commands are prefixed H and M.

Dear all,
for my project, a Onewire controlled HD44780 display would come in handy. I
see owfs supports the reference design from

As the D7 line is tied to GND in that schematic, it's not possible to use all
the characters (and commands) in the 44780's ROM in 8 Bit mode. That brings
up my question:
Does owfs use the 8 Bit mode of the 44780 in that design, or the 4 Bit mode?
Kind regards
