ahmmm.. It might sound extreme, but... :)

I'm trying to collect some data on building a IR bridge (transceiver) for OW.
The goal is to have ow-clients spread in an small area where extra cabling
is undesirable.

Requirements are low cost, circuit simplicity, small size.

The idea could be extended to other signal-transfer 'media' (optics, HF,etc)
even with smoke-signals! (just kidding :-p )

IR should be based in frequency modulated protocol, just like IR-Remote controls
work, in order to avoid IR interference, so high speed components (IR-sensor)
could be used. Most IR-Remote control sensors work by filtering a 5-10 cycle
signal
to sense a logic '1', so in this case, draft calculating, a minimum 1us pulse
for
OW protocol (?), would need a maximum of 10 x 0.1us IR cycle

Any ideas?
