Yes!
iButtonLink makes the LINK -- a PIC microprocessor that emulates DS9097U and
has it's own ASCII control langauge (well supported by OWFS).
They apparently license the program for embedded designs, and possibley the
PIC could support IR as well as LINK. That way you could use your sensors
with OWFS over an IR link.
