all lines you tested work for me as well, but...
when I write to FF.xxxxxx/screen16 owserver dies. This also happens when I
'cat' the contents of a file to line16.0 or line16.1  No matter if I use
OWSHELL or FUSE, so it must be something in 'owserver' then?
You did explain the weird char at the end though! Thanks for clearing that
up.
Also noticed that after a day or so the OWDIR command shows me th devices
and on the last line "bus error".

Maybe I expected too much and must I take care of not exceeding the limits
while scripting and just write to line16.0 and 16.1 seperately. Btw, is
there a way to find out what characters a possible to use? For instance the
'°C' for degrees Celsius?
