That sounds like a good name for a specific interface to trigger a re-open
of the file descriptor.

The global "rescan" (or maybe "rescan-usb" and "rescan-i2c")
file, which triggers a scan of the whole system if --usb=all or
--i2c=all is used, should probably be named "rescan" and generally
not touch any interface that has not changed.
