Hi Collin,

Actually I run both owfs and rrdtool in a VirtualBox on my WHS server.

It was quite an hurdle to get everything set up at first try, I am a newbee
to both the Linux world and VirtualBox. I run debian in the VM. The setup
has been working fine for several months now.

I don't have the cookbook on the top of my head, but one cruical part was
that all (debian) packages has to come from squeeze or sid. Be *very*
careful with wheezy, there is one package that has to be taken from there
but I don't remember which. If you use some tool for installing packages,
be sure to uncheck the tick box for wheezy!

One trick I had to use to get the USB working: I had to go to the Win
device manager and manually install the USB driver for VB. This is equaly
valid for Win 7 as for WHS. VB does tell it has active USB devices but can
not communicate with them, Win device manager tells there is a problem.
Once installed manually it works.

The combination VB+owfs+rrd bearly shows on the WHS performance meter .

Regards
Klas
