When you access any of the counter nodes, owfs doesn't read the memory
contents but only the counter. TA1/TA2 are set to the last byte of
memory in the page as the DS2423 requires to read at least one memory
byte before the page counter can be read. That byte is the "throw_away"
byte in front of the data0..data3, which is the counter value and
data4..data7, which are the 32 all-zero bits.
