Not necessarily true. I have recently been guided on this list as to
how to interface 1-wire devices to a Raspberry Pi and owserver.  I
would gladly add an application note to a wiki detailing how to do
this provided it was easy to do, so using something like Markup.

I am sure there are many developers who have would find it difficult,
or at least tedious, to write html.  Surely very few  do that
regularly nowadays.
