To get rid of things in an enviromentally friendly way - try Ebay. Put it up at a very low starting bid etc and you will be sure that someone will grab it. Use local pickup only too so to save freight. Plus you might get say $20+ dollars for it
I have gotten rid of a lot of old equipment that way, plus the electronic enthusiast would love to get hold of an old laser printer with its stepping motors, laser, electronics, plus a pile of really neat plastic parts. Dave
