Don't worry about the security problems. Hyper-V had mapped my DVD drive to some other folder/machine that I don't recognise, and it had a setup.exe file in it which I mistook for the SQL 2012 setup file. When I made the VM's DVD drive the same letter as the host machine's letter (and rebooted) it came good and I can see the "real" DVD drive now. You can't make this shit up, it's beyond human understanding -- Greg
