I also use OpenDNS for filtering/blocking and find it effective and
non-intrusive.

On a side note - Tony how do you find the advertising company URLs? They don't
always come up in OpenDNS reports.

I don't know if this will be adequate for you, but for a firewall I use OpenDNS
- it's free and will block any categories that you select. Once you've set it
up, all you need to do is to set up the DNS to point to their ip addresses. You
can select the level of security you want, from None, Low, Moderate, High and
Custom settings.

For example, the High will "Protects against all adult-related sites, illegal
activity, social networking sites, video sharing sites, and general
time-wasters", Moderate will "Protects against all adult-related sites and
illegal activity", Low will "Protect against Pornography" etc

They also have the ability to allow single sites or block single sites in case
there's something that you don't agree with. I put a few of the advertising
company urls in there and it does a good job of blocking some dodgy looking ads.

Hi All,

I've had a friend ask me about Internet Nanny Software and Numeracy/Literacy
for young Autistic people.

Any suggestions would be *greatly* appreciated!

Internet Nanny Software

Outside of the arguments about children surfing unsupervised, does anyone have
experience with decent software which is effective and can't be disabled too
easily by little hackers?

Numeracy/Literacy for young Autistic people.

Does anyone have experience with this? Or does anyone know some good software
for children anyway?

Thanks heaps :)
