Dear Barbara
Sorry its taken me so long to reply. I'll blame my children and my work and
therefore no time. The REEDA Scale that we use for assessing perineal
trauma is a four point categorical score(0-3) that measures five components
associated with the healing process. It was devised by Davidson and
requires the midwife to measure ( with a disposable tape) the amount of
redness, oedema, ecchymosis, discharge, approximation of the wound and from
this a score is given.
