The only way to get people excited about new equipment and ideas is to
try them. When I first suggested having a birth ball the idea was bagged
considerably but I went ahead and ordered it anyway. They aren't that
expensive. I overheard our NUM telling someone one day that it never gets
used which just goes to show that its the users that need to try it
because the women I am with nearly always use it. I bounce it into the
room and offer it as an option. There first reaction is often sceptical
if they haven't been made aware of it but nearly without exception it is
the toy they get the most support from during labour. And if not its a
good seat for me.
Try ringing Joy J or the companies and get one to trial. The same goes
for birth stools. Trial as many as you can before you decide what meets
your needs.

Good luck
