When the baby has chosenA TRANSVERSE LY I FEEL IT IS TRANSIENT TO TURNING TO LONGITUDANAL OR IT IS FOR COMFORT . Once it's been established that there is no mechanical blockage ie placenta or tissue mass or structual abnormality in uterus or baby then when contractions start the decree of comfort for baby will quickly change and it will turn to longitudanal ly. The problem is that some the membranes rupture prior to contractions and that is why the doctor is so concerned ie there is a small but real possibility that the cord could prolapse with the possibility of cutting of the baby's life line .So I think in this instance the dr is acting in the best interests of the mother and baby . Regarding advice talk to baby visulise and turn acupunture at 38 weeks and decrease the level of comfort ie sleep on side where head is and encorage to move .
