This sounds too simple to work but did for my 4 pregnancies and has helped many of the women that I see antenatally.
Ask the woman to 'program' herself to not point her toes in bed AT ALL.
When we turn and stretch at night we often point our toes. This will often set off a cramp.
By programming herself to have relaxed feet or even to make and 'L' shape with foot and ankle, the cramps should subside.
