[ozmidwifery] Controlled crying

HI all, I would like some opinions on the effects of controlled crying. I know the subject was discussed recently, but I was busy at the time and didn't pay much attention. (my wife and I having our first baby) Why im interested is that a friend of ours whom recently gave birth (4weeks ago) is practising this "controlled crying" , much to my alarm! she is even considering bottle feeding formula so that "she " gets more rest!
