Yes Tina, my thoughts exactly. I was wondering if we could do an informal study on our collective selves: does it sting etc.. The doc said he felt it was too important not to try and was off to Thailand to speak about it and it seemed a small trial was starting there. They said the pH of lemon juice was around 2.2 which I think is a little low but who knows. Someone on the program compared it to battery acid or stomach acid but I disagree with that, even if it has a low pH I don't believe it to be chemically a STRONG acid. Without even putting lemon juice near my vagina, I am guessing that like you said Tina the pH of the vagina is naturally low, so we wouldn't even notice it if we have a healthy vagina with normal flora present.Could be a low cost diagnostic instrument too. I think an interesting invitro test to do would be to see what it does to these normal flora. Life is full of science experiments!! I also thought that if 1/3 of the lemon could be used as a cervical cap, then maybe 2/3 of the lemon could be used as a menstrual keeper. Maybe I am taking this lemon thing too far. I just love lemons.

Hi Marilyn,

yes I too saw this program...found it really interesting...thought of doing a test for myself with a lemon....for what potential irritation it may cause...what is the pH of lemon juice...anyone know?? The pH of the vagina is low for vaginal health as it inhibits the growth of microrganisims etc...seems plausible does it not that something so simple and inexpensive could work?? Lemon juice just killed the AIDS virus in its tracks!!

What I found interesting though Marilyn, was that most of the opposition that came against this doctor's proposal for lemon juice was from large pharmaceutical / drug companies with vested interests to the magnitude of millions and millions of dollars in drugs to treat AIDS etc...noone else was complaining!!

Cheers TinaXX
