Dear fellow list members, What is your practice regarding the timing of the first bath, in a hospital setting? One of my colleagues is re-examining our current practice of delaying the first bath until approx 24hrs, and after babe's temp is confirmed to be normal. We are keen to know the rationale for other midwives' practice, including it's impact on the infant's temperature and risk of infection.
