RE: [ozmidwifery] community mid program WA

Up until march this year, the CMP has struggled along uncertain of its future, contracts being signed late and for only a year.  The midwives have been on 3 monthly contracts for 3-4 years. Why is this so?  The politics of birth, insurance, money, all sorts of reasons.  Our managers have just signed a 3 yr contract with the Health Dept.  The numbers are starting to move now there is some certainty and there is thought of increasing midwife numbers.
