Hi Nigel, I tried doing the same thing by modifying copy.aspx (big no-no) to have certain options checked by default and it didn't seem to want to play ball.
If there is a way to programatically change defaults for system pages without modifying them directly, or providing an alternative, I would love to know about it too.
