I spoke to one of the WIT devs here about the issue and they seem to think that
after you switched domains, the new service account wasn't configured correctly
using TfsAdminUtil.exe. The WIT subscriptions to Integration changes are likely
owned by the old service account, not the new account.

http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/tfsadmin/thread/e3403d10-a591-43f2-bfa2-f14750755193/

This could be because of the lack of errors in the event log. If the problem
was on the WIT end, there would be an error. Therefore, the problem is in the
event notification.

There's a guy on one of the community lists having an interesting problem. Any
ideas? I'll proxy the response back if you'd like.

We recently migrated our TFS installation (via restore-based move) to a new
domain, but since then it appears that we can create new areas and iterations,
but they don't then become available to assign to work items or queries.

At a low technical level, I can look in the TFS database and see that there are
new records created in the TFSIntegration.tbl_nodes table but that there are no
corresponding records created in the TFSWorkItemTracking.TreeNodes table.

As a diagnostic – try restarting IIS. I’ve sometimes had information get cached
in there. Its really hard to know what to suggest without getting your fingers
into it a bit. Did you check the event subscriptions as Richard suggested? That
can cause the problem.

I've restarted the service, and no change has been observed.

On looking in the event log, there are only hourly Group Synchronization start
and end messages. Earlier we were having some other errors, but they have been
resolved and there is still no sign of our areas or iterations showing up.
There are no other error messages, so if there is an error, it is being
swallowed up somewhere else.

Just to make sure, I've just created a new iteration, and it hasn't showed up
in TSWA to add to new work items (or team explorer).

Is there something I could profile with SQL Profiler or some kind of trace I
could switch on and try and add a new iteration?

Dylan.

Try restarting the TFSSchedulerService. Also – check the event log. If
something isn’t syncing it should be logged there.

Yes, local cached data has been cleared, and

yes, we get the same issues at TSWA.

We can see the new areas and iterations when using the "Add Areas and
Iterations" screens in TSWA or Team Explorer, but we can't use them for new (or
existing) work items, or for queries.

Something is broken internally with the synch between the Integration and
WorkItem databases.

Dylan.

A few suggestions:

1. Have you cleared your local TFS cached data?

2. Alternatively , try accessing work items from TSWA and see if they
appear correctly there.

I've got a post on the MSDN forums, but the overnight pace of replies is
getting a bit wearing, so I'll see if anyone here has some insight.

We recently migrated our TFS installation (via restore-based move) to a new
domain, but since then it appears that we can create new areas and iterations,
but they don't then become available to assign to work items or queries.

At a low technical level, I can look in the TFS database and see that there are

corresponding records created in the TFSWorkItemTracking.TreeNodes table.

Does anyone know what process is responsible for synchronising these tables,
and how I can see if it is having problems? So far the best response I've got
via MSDN is that I will need to do some "jiggery pokery around the sync
process" but at this time of year it's likely to be several days before I get
anything clearer.

We don't appear to have any relevant errors in our server event logs.
