Yep, I have had this a lot and its just a version difference between the agent/controller. For me, it was mostly that one had a vanilla install of 2008 and an agent had SP1 (or vice versa)

TF224003: An exception occurred on the build computer [MachineName]: Could not load type 'Microsoft.TeamFoundation.CommonSqlError' from assembly 'Microsoft.TeamFoundation.Common, Version=9.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' due to value type mismatch.. The machine is XP Pro with all available updates. I have installed VSTS with SP1, the build agent setup and everything else I can think of that are requirements to get a build running. The type requested exists in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies. The fusion log viewer doesn't log any errors for this binding and the event log doesn't indicate any issues. I have given the build account administrative rights on the build machine and added C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies to the PATH environment variable and still no joy.
