Hi, Team Build has to be at the same patch level as TFS so I can see why you did not apply SP1 to it. I think VSTS 2008 SP1 is the cause of your problem.

I'm a little confused though. Isn't the controller the TFS server that invokes the agent (client build machine) to build something. We don't have TFS SP1 on the server, but I have installed VSTS SP1 on the agent. The installation order was: VSTS Team Explorer Team Build 2008 VSTS SP1 I tried reinstalling Team Build 2008 to fix up any version issues that SP1 have brought in but it still hasn't worked. Should I have not installed VSTS SP1 in the first place? TF224003: An exception occurred on the build computer [MachineName]: Could not load type 'Microsoft.TeamFoundation.CommonSqlError' from assembly 'Microsoft.TeamFoundation.Common, Version=9.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' due to value type mismatch.. The machine is XP Pro with all available updates. I have installed VSTS with SP1, the build agent setup and everything else I can think of that are requirements to get a build running. The type requested exists in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies. The fusion log viewer doesn't log any errors for this binding and the event log doesn't indicate any issues. I have given the build account administrative rights on the build machine and added C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies to the PATH environment variable and still no joy. Any ideas?
