I would add that there is no Basic "edition" of TFS 2010. Instead there are
three installation types of TFS 2010 - Basic, Standard, Advanced and same
installer is used.

I am not sure if pricing is publically announced yet, but it will have a
single, very competitive price and it is CAL dependent.

I would move to TFS2010 (Basic edition is very cheap ~ TFS2008 Workgroup
edition)

In our company we moved from TFS2008 to TFS2010 and we documented all the
steps here

es/default.aspx

Sorry - Page is empty because rules need to be approved (wait 2 more
days....)

Some small docu in the meantime here

And do we know if there is a 2005 -> 2010 upgrade path?

Yeah, I have thought of that, but it is this is a live system and 2010 is
still Beta..

Any ideas as to when it is released?

You might even want to upgrade to TFS 2010...

Hi All,

Just trying to collect recommendations for moving a TFS 2005 install from
serverA to serverB

serverA is set for replacement soon and I was going to upgrade to TFS 2008
at the same time.

So far my research has pointed me to do an in place upgrade of 2005 to 2008
and then move to the new server.

Thoughts?
