The 2010 Team Explorer will not run in VS 2005/2008 you need an updated Team
Explorer for those clients.
The 2008 version is done and have made a commitment for a 2005 client

So are people so confident that they are running Beta2 in a production
environment? 4 months is a long time to wait....

Can anybody tell me if team explorer for 2010 runs in vs2003 / 2005 / 2008

There will be a 2005 --> 2010 upgrade path. The "launch" data for the Visual
Studio 2010 and TFS 2010 release has been announced for March 22, 2010.

I'd agree with everyone... I'd just upgrade from 2005 to 2010 if you can.

And do we know if there is a 2005 -> 2010 upgrade path?

Yeah, I have thought of that, but it is this is a live system and 2010 is still
Beta....

Any ideas as to when it is released?

You might even want to upgrade to TFS 2010...

Hi All,

Just trying to collect recommendations for moving a TFS 2005 install from
serverA to serverB

serverA is set for replacement soon and I was going to upgrade to TFS 2008 at
the same time.

So far my research has pointed me to do an in place upgrade of 2005 to 2008 and
then move to the new server.

Thoughts?
