In our implementation, we search for rfc822Name format in all X509
fields in the following order:
CN
emailAddress
<future fields per this draft>
Placing the "n...@domain" in the CN of the certificate yields smaller
X509 structure that uses no V3 extensions, and it defines both the
overlay name ("domain" part) and the AoR. It's perfect for a small
self-sign certificate.
