HI David I do have within Vmware Fusion a VM running Vmware ESXi 6, I gave the vm 4 cores ( minimum to run Vmware ESXi ) and 4-8 GB of mem but if you more available you can afford, I'd recommend to assign more so you have more flexibility when you create your our VMs within the ESXi .
