Hi Fabrice,
Sorry for taking so long to get back to you, I appreciate your help. We were
not using Active Directory but I have setup a server that is to use for this
project. I followed the instructions and successfully added the packetfence
server to AD. I also added AD as a source and it tested and saved
successfully. I added a rule and that adds all users to the default role and
an expiration date of 2020. However when I try to connect via wireless it says
unable to connect to network. Let me know if there is any config files I can
post or information needed that will help.
Also, do you know when 4.4 is scheduled to be released?

thanksBrian

Subject: Re: [PacketFence-users] Adding Aerohive Access Points

    Hi Brian,

currently it´s not possible to use local user account for 802.1x
(wait for pf 4.4 it will be available or try devel version and apply
    this patch
    https://github.com/inverse-inc/packetfence/pull/212.diff).

If you have an active directory you can enable ntlm_auth in
    freeradius (Follow the documentation).

    Regards

    Fabrice

I am new too both AeroHive/PacketFence and
attempting to get it setup. We have the ZEN deployment and a
cloud managed AeroHive deployment. We are attempting to use
802.1x authentication. I have followed the network setup guide
to get the AeroHive portion setup. What configuration do I need
to do on the PacketFence side to get this working? I attempted
to add a switch but am not sure what settings the wireless
access points need. When trying to login we get the login
prompt for username and password then it gives a not verified
certificate and requires an accept. Once clicked it says
incorrect Username and password. The user is setup as a local
user on the PacketFence server and the username and password are
definitely correct. The radius log shows the following error:

            Sat Aug 9 12:55:49 2014 : Auth: Login incorrect:
[admin] (from client 192.168.2.80 port 0 cli B8-E8-56-8C-8B-6A)

            My settings are as follows:

            DEFINITION TAB
            Description: Test
            Type: AeroHIVE AP
            Mode: Production
            Deauthentication Method: RADIUS
            Dynamic Uplinks: Checked
Controller IP Address: (Blank because we are using the
              cloud controller)
            Controller Port: Blank
            Portal URL: Blank

            ROLES TAB
            default: 3 (production VLAN)

            RADIUS TAB
Secret Passphrase: (Passphrase that AeroHIVE is using
              is entered here)

Do i need SNMP CLI or Web Services? Currently I have
nothing setup in any of them. Any help would be
appreciated. I have looked through both the admin guide,
zen guide, network device guide and searched the mailing
list archives and haven't been able to find an answer. I
am new to both of these technologies so I may be missing
              something completely obvious.
