Hi All -
Running PF 5.5.2.
Every now and then I have users get the following error in their web
browser:
Sorry!
You hit the captive portal on the management interface. The management
console is on port 1443.
If you have questions about this page, contact your local support staff for
assistance. Please provide the following information:
- IP address: 10.11.177.208
- MAC: 00:23:24:72:16:6b
One user, in particular, is telling me she'll leave her computer at the end
of the day, and come in the next morning to this message. The machine is
registered and does not get unregistered for another 4 months and it seems
that the message will appear after some time of inactivity.
I found the following log entry, but am not sure if the timing of it
matches up to the user seeing these errors:
Feb 15 09:36:15 httpd.portal(29519) ERROR: [mac:00:23:24:72:16:6b] Hitting
unknownState on the management address (10.2.2.10)
(captiveportal::PacketFence::Controller::CaptivePortal::unknownState)
I believe the user can simply close this message and continue without
issue -- but she claims it is increasingly showing up more and is just
annoying.
Thoughts?
Max
