I’m not totally sure when this problem started and I suspect it’s unrelated to packetfence, however I hoped you might know the answer.
We have out of band enforcement for an unsecured (guest) wireless network with a captive portal. We’re running packetfence 6.5.1, our wireless uses an Aruba 7010 and Aruba 315 access points. When iphone / IOS users connect to my guest network and authenticate via the captive portal the devices don’t appear to be disconnected from the network in order to be put into the right VLAN. There’s no errors in the logs and I believe everything is working fine. I believe this is a new feature of IOS and I was hoping someone had experienced this and had some advice. If I change the “Ask to Join Networks” and “Auto-Join Hotspot” settings I can sometimes get it to work, however despite reading a number of descriptions I can’t say I really understand what the “AutoJoin Hotspot” setting is for. And I might be mistaken but it seems to work with certain settings but when I forget the network and reconnect again it no longer works. Does anyone have any guidance? Thanks John Sayce
