Still I wonder why 2.8 makes trouble just now, its available since October.
That might be but before your request[1] kodi explicitely required
libavdevice 55.0.0 which pulled in all the other stuff.
It required 55 or newer, which was ffmpeg with version 2.8.
So how exactly can I reproduce the crash? I never use kodi.
As soon as I start it it crashes on Leap :-)
