Hello,

I have a naive idea about distributing cutting-edge or stable versions of
Padre.
As you know, it is not always that easy to install Padre, especially a
recent version, even on windows.
In my opinion, it's a pity because good perl developers are not always
system gurus, and that does not
give a good image of the project when you have to struggle with the
installation.

So I was thinking... Why not distributing and maitaining up-to-date a
virtual image of a OS with the latest Padre version and all the needed tools
installed ?
For example an image for the VirtualBox software, which is opensource and
free to use, and runs on linux/windows ?
By using a light version of an OS, the image would not be that heavy, and
could be distributed via peer-to-peer networks.

What do you think ?

Karl
