Hi Karl. Your idea is good, but ... there is a "but" :-)
Each one has his/her own favorite OS. And one of the great features of Perl is the ability to work in many different platforms. And so is for Padre - which is written in Perl and for Perl. What OS would _you_ prefer? * I * would prefer Ubuntu (or a variant - like Xubuntu or Kubuntu ). I found it as the most easiest OS to install Padre in. Much easier then MS-Windows. >From personal knowledge - I think that the first "father" of Padre uses and develop mainly on Ubuntu Linux. (I had the honor to meat Gabor few times... :-) ) On Mon, Mar 1, 2010 at 11:34 AM, Karl Forner <karl.for...@gmail.com> wrote: > Hello, > > I have a naive idea about distributing cutting-edge or stable versions of > Padre. > As you know, it is not always that easy to install Padre, especially a > recent version, even on windows. > In my opinion, it's a pity because good perl developers are not always > system gurus, and that does not > give a good image of the project when you have to struggle with the > installation. > > So I was thinking...
