I like this. Although we have several plugins, I wonder how many are
improved regularly or kept up to date at this point. Last time I
checked a lot of plugins in the svn tree didn't even load - but of
course this was a few months ago so things could be way better now.
If, however, this is still the current scenario, then maybe shaking
things up with this change while also advertising on the new/improved
ways to interface with Padre might give plugin authors (old, new and
yet-to-be) some improved morale and an excuse to get back on coding.
At least this is how I would feel :-)
