Is it possible that the issues with the existing Task system are the main
reasons behind contributions being slow lately? (I actually have no idea,
I'm new here, and not really sure what's causing it). I did have some
Task-related ideas (that I've been meaning to send out to the mailing list)
that could be helped with these changes... so maybe that's one vote for more
contributions if the new Task stuff is available sooner (not that I actually
have any idea what they do!)

anyway, as the two task systems can live in parallel. Slow, and a bit messy,
perhaps, but possibly not too unstable.

Sam.
