The next Debian "stable" release will have Padre 0.63. My current work is targetted at the Debian's "experimental" distribution and therefore can include unstable and unpolished stuff without causing any harm. So no need to consider Debian packaging in your releases more than any other distribution channel (e.g. CPAN). At least not before the next stable release comes close, wich may be somewhere in 2012 :)
