Given than I'm on ubuntu 10.10 too, it would have been me when I ran the
script to update the messages.pot file before branching.

So given it effects both trunk and branch the same, and we currently
have the release branch, I don't see much issue with Zeno generating a
good messages.pot and committing that to the release branch.

We could ask very nicely for the translators to update the branch,
hopefully this isn't a major lot of work, and after the release I'll
just have to merge the changes back.. which for the most part shouldn't
be too difficult. 

 It just means that for a while trunk will be missing some translated
parts, which isn't a bad thing,as we should have more people using the
release branch to see how it goes prior to releasing it to the world.
