Well, yes and no.

ProxiWeb has a cache and a form that displays the contents of
the cache by page title. You can also lock pages into the cache
so they don't get pushed out by lru. So you can browse a number
of pages (depending on your cache size setting), disconnect, and
still have them with you.

I used AvantGo for quite some time but don't any longer. I'm
fiddling with ProxiWeb now.

This is really the bottom line best advice. Web browsing on a
2-1/4-inch 160x160 2-bit (or even 4-bit) monochrome screen just
ain't gonna cut it. I'm sticking to my 20-inch 1280x1024 24-bit
color display with room to put up multiple overlapping pages and
the horsepower to do all the cute stuff.

Footnote: why I quit using AvantGo (mostly nobody will care but
I feel like typing instead of doing real work just now).

1) Static list of pages with static settings for depth isn't
suitable for a lot of things.

For example I like to read Dr. Metcalfe's column in Infoworld
but it only gets updated weekly. With AvantGo I have to
either carry it along all the time taking up memory or
manually add and delete it each Monday. With ProxiWeb I save
a bookmark to it, and have to manually click on that bookmark
some time each week to view the column.

2) Long hotsync times to check if any of the pages are updated.
With Proxiweb I trade that for long times waiting for the
    proxy.

3) Inability to select and copy text or links. Note that
ProxiWeb doesn't fix this, neither one of them lets me clip a
bit of text out of the page I'm viewing.

4) Enormous memory usage. Discounting the downloaded docs,
AvantGo occupied on the order of 250K (my memory could be bad
and I don't have the prc-s lying about).

I think the real bottom line for me was the "bang for the buck".
I kept reducing the number of pages I sync-ed into AvantGo
because I needed the memory for other stuff and I could read the
same pages on the big screen as conveniently. Eventually I got
down to where there wasn't anything I read on a more than
occasional basis. That's where I deleted the whole thing.
