If you cold boot, it means you want to reformat, so erasing first won't
hurt much.

Sync early, sync often. Use the Norton stuff on the desktop if you have
to. Keep the handheld simple simple.

That's physically impossible -- dislodging the memory card removes power
from it, which scrambles memory. No undelete tricks are going to save you
here...
