>What kind of code pages/unicodes (US850, UTF-8/16, UCS-2/4 or whatever) are

1. Palm devices before version 3.1 of the rom supported a slightly munged
version of Windows code page 1252 (Latin), which is itself an extended
version of ISO 8859-1. This character set can support English, French,
German, Spanish, Italian, and many other languages.
2. In version 3.1 of the roms, some changes were made to the Latin
character set; since I've beaten this topic into a bloody pulp recently,
I'll refrain from once again detailing the mods.
3. The Japanese version of Palm OS, based on version 3.1 of the rom, uses a
slightly munged version of Windows code page 932, which is itself an
extended version of Shift JIS.
4. Currently the Palm OS does not support any Unicode character set encoding.
5. Currently the Palm OS provides no APIs for converting between different
character codes. The PalmRez plugin for CodeWarrior does handle
transliteration from the MacRoman character set (assumed as the encoding
for resources) to the PalmLatin character set.
