No! If it's open then you should know about it since your app opened it. If
your app is running then you have access to your globals. If not, open it.
These two conditions should be mutually exclusive, assuming that there is
not a bug elsewhere in your application. One possible bug is this: opening
a DB with dmModeReadWrite and dmModeLeaveOpen and then exiting your
application. This will create a scenario where your DB is opened but the
app isn't running. Are you doing this? If not, then your globals will work.
